बोधगया
बिहार के बोधगया में महात्मा बुद्ध को ज्ञान की प्राप्ति हुई थी। इसलिए पूरी दुनिया के बौद्ध उपासकों के लिए यह जगह बेहद पवित्र है। जिस पीपल के पेड़ के नीचे उन्हें ज्ञान मिला था उसे बोधिवृक्ष कहा जाता है। यहां बने महाबोधि मंदिर को वर्ष 2002 में यूनेस्को ने विश्व विरासत स्थलों की सूची में शामिल किया था। बोधगया में बौद्ध धर्म को मामने वाले दूसरे देशों के बहुत से मठ बने हैं जिससे इस शहर का रंग रूप बिल्कुल अलग नजर आता है। यह शहर गया से 12 किलोमीटर दूरी पर है ।

Bodhgaya

Bodhgaya is one of the most important and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage center in the world. It was here under a Peepal tree, the Bodhi Tree, Gautama attained supreme knowledge to become Buddha,the Enlightened One. There is a magnificent Mahabodhi temple and the Tree from the original sapling still stands in the temple premises. The temple is an architectural amalgamation of many centuries, cultures and heritages. While its architecture has a distinct stamp of the Gupta era, it has later ages inscriptions describing visits of pilgrims from Sri Lanka, Myanmar and China between 7th and 10th century AD. It is perhaps still the same temple Hieuen Tsang visited in 7th century.
